On June 5 and 6, 2025, the Mediterranean Institute for Risk, Environment, and Sustainable Development (IMREDD) at Université Côte d’Azur will host “ONE HEALTH: Well-Being and Sustainability in the Blue Economy,” a business-to-business side event of the United Nations Ocean Conference 2025 (UNOC 2025). The event is dedicated to fostering Franco-Monegasque-Italian cooperation in the Blue Economy sector.
Organized in partnership with the Centre for Advanced Technologies in Health and Well-Being at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, and supported by the Italian Consulate General in Nice, the Alpes-Maritimes Department, the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, and the City of Nice, the event offers a unique platform for exchange between companies, researchers, and institutions committed to developing innovative and sustainable solutions for marine and coastal ecosystems.
Purpose and Context
This event is part of the broader « ONE HEALTH: Well-Being and Sustainability in the Blue Economy » program, originally launched in Italy through collaboration between San Raffaele Hospital, CIPNES (Consorzio Industriale Provinciale Nord Est Sardegna), and the Marina di Porto Rotondo. With its growing relevance, the program has expanded internationally through IMREDD, forming a cross-border innovation network addressing the challenges of sustainable ocean development.
The program aims to promote the transition toward healthier, more sustainable lifestyles through technological innovation and collaborative research within the Blue Economy.
Format and Program
Rather than a traditional exhibition, the event is designed as a highly interactive B2B forum. The program includes collaborative pitch sessions, thematic workshops, and group meetings inspired by speed dating to encourage open dialogue and partnership-building among participants.
Participants will explore themes such as sustainable marine technologies, ecosystem preservation, responsible coastal development, and innovative approaches to ocean health and conservation.
This initiative also supports the development of new industrial collaborations, with a focus on concrete, long-term projects across France, Monaco, and Italy.
Why Participate
By attending, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Discover the latest innovations in the Blue Economy, particularly those promoting sustainability and positive impact on marine ecosystems
- Connect with stakeholders from France, Monaco, and Italy to build strategic partnerships
- Compete for awards recognizing the most promising initiatives in various categories, presented during the official closing ceremony
- Explore investment opportunities in Sardinia, with presentations from CIPNES on support available for startups and innovative initiatives
- Learn about funding mechanisms through a dedicated session led by EU.TOPIA, focusing on European resources for Blue Economy projects
Two Modes of Participation
Active Participation (Application Required):
Approximately 40 selected companies and research laboratories will be invited to present their solutions, take part in workshops, and engage with participants over two days. Applications must be submitted by April 30, 2025.
Discovery Participation (Open Registration):
Local stakeholders, including businesses and public authorities, are welcome to attend the morning sessions to explore projects and interact with key players in the Blue Economy.
A Strategic Opportunity
As an official side event of UNOC 2025, this meeting represents a rare opportunity to position your organization at the forefront of sustainable ocean innovation. It is a must-attend event for those seeking to contribute meaningfully to the development of a healthy and resilient marine future.
By participating, you will join a growing international network working to shape a more responsible, collaborative, and impactful approach to the ocean economy.
